Q:What inspired the range of T-shirts featuring beasts?
Rovirò: “The inspiration came from my passion for felines and my background
in classical studies, which led me back to Dante and the beasts mentioned
in the Divine Comedy.
It is no coincidence that the T-shirt has a title ‘La fiera’ which comes precisely from there.”
Q:What impact has studying *The Divine Comedy* had on your artistic journey?
Rovirò: “A cornerstone of classical culture, and my painting style takes on modern and futuristic forms but clearly draws on classical influences.
*The Divine Comedy*, particularly with its division into Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, is almost as if it were defining some of my stylistic hallmarks”
Q:What makes the cotton used in these T-shirts so special?
Rovirò: “The T-shirts are made from a particularly high-quality cotton,
which is light and soft, and are made in Italy.”
Q:How does this clothing line tie in with your vision as a contemporary artist?
Rovirò: “The garments are fully in keeping with my artistic vision in
that they are surfaces which allow a work of art to travel the
world simply by being worn.
A further feature is that every garment, including T-shirts, has a
title, just like a painting.
Another feature that makes these T-shirts comparable to paintings is
the fact that the logo isn’t placed at the top like on any ordinary T-shirt,
but at the bottom of the design, just as one would sign a painting.”
Q: How should these garments be worn? How did you envisage them?
Rovirò: “These are T-shirts inspired by original designs, each with its own story; they are
genuine multiples of an original work of art.
The quality of the fabric makes you feel comfortable wearing something special that also makes you feel good.
Many people don’t realise just how important the quality of the fabrics we wear is to our sense of well-being.”
