Chrysoprase and amethyst stone necklace

The amethyst stone is mounted with sterling silver and finished with a beautiful white pearl. The clasp of this necklace is made entirely of silver and is very special and original.

Characteristics and curiosities of chrysoprase:
The word composed from the ancient Greek “Chrysoprase” and literally means “golden leek”. Because of its rarity and distinctive colour, chrysoprase is one of the most valuable and expensive varieties of chalcedony.
The medieval philosopher Albertus Magnus, in his book ‘Secrets and Virtues of Herbs, Stones and Animals’, recounts that Alexander the Great wore a chrysoprase stone in his belt, convinced that its power would ensure him victory in battle.
