Care instructions:
1. It is best not to get it wet. If it does get wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth and a hairdryer.
2. To polish it, use a soft cloth, preferably one specifically designed for jewellery.
3. To remove stains or oxide patina, you can use specific liquid, cream or paste products. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, remembering to dry it immediately with a hairdryer. Use warm water, but not boiling water.
4. Do not wear the jewellery when your hands are in contact with rough surfaces or chemicals.
5. In the case of gilded bronze, do not use abrasive products, only the specific cloth. After a certain amount of time, the jewellery will need to be regilded. You can contact us for this.
6. Wear the jewellery. Use will keep it “alive”!

The ancient Romans called the peacock the ‘Bird of Juno’ and it accompanied the souls of empresses to the afterlife. In Persian tradition it represented royalty, beauty and immortality.

In China, the peacock is sacred to Kwan-Yin, the celestial Goddess of Compassion. This goddess renounced immortality to guide men along the path of spiritual evolution, of which the peacock is a symbol.
A cameo is a piece of jewellery made by engraving a shell, in particular Cypraecassis rufa, Cassis madascarensis and Cassis cornuta, because these shells of the Cassis family have a surface consisting of two distinct layers of colour, which allows the figure in relief to be clearly isolated from the background. In Torre del Greco, near Naples, cameo work is still carried out by craftsmen from Torre del Greco who hand down the tradition from father to son.

This ring is very original and made it with a hand engraved cameo, is very elegant and original, an exclusive creation.

The cameo engraving is a unique and original workmanship with a timeless charm, a real timeless classic, it involves several steps, let’s discover them together:

-Uncapping: it consists in a cut on the upper and convex part of the shell, called “the cup”.

– Marking: the craftsman then proceeds to the marking and shaping of the cut part, making the outlines of the cameos inside the cup and cutting off the superfluous parts of the shell.

-Aggabatura: this stage creates the final oval or round shape of the shell.

-Pitching: the piece is fixed to a wooden spindle using hot mastic combined with wax, Greek pitch and scagliola.

-Embossing: the chosen image can be sketched, albeit in broad strokes, and then shaped using burins of different sizes.

-Engraving stage: this is where the finishing touches are made in the smallest detail.

-Polishing phase: this is carried out with oil and pumice and then it is rinsed with running water, degreased and dried with a white linen cloth.

-Degreasing phase: the last operation in the cameo manufacturing process that, together with polishing, contributes to giving greater charm to the jewel created.
